GETTING OLDER | CALGARY PHOTOGRAPHER

I have had the pleasure of spending some of my time with high school girls in the past week, photographing them and chatting with them really takes you back it almost makes me want to go back to high school myself…almost!  Laura was so much fun to hang out with and it was the first time since my own graduation that I felt…dare I say it……sort of old!  Talking with her about my high school hair style (trust me you don’t want me to explain it, it truly was that bad) and what my Mom used to dress my brother and I in when we were younger made me wonder “hmmm will Ella say this about me when she is older??? can it be possible I am not as cool as I seem to think I am?? is she going to look at pictures of when she was just six and think oh good lord what was my mother thinking!!” (Mom, Iam totally kidding I don’ t think that…James and rocked the neon like nobody else could!)

Sometimes I still think Ella is younger then she really is…I have even caught myself telling people she is younger then she is, last week I told two people she was 5 and then was too embarassed to correct myself ( i mean who doesn’t know how old their kids are!!) I just can’t wrap my head around how big she is getting and photographing these beautiful girls has made me think about their Mom’s and if time has flown as fast for them as it is for me….am I going to blink and be planning Ella’s graduation party…..regardless of time, this Momma should be proud she has raised one fantastic daughter and I truly enjoyed every second I spent with her!

Hope you enjoy a little peek of the pictures we took the other day…there were so many good ones!!

Speaking of Ella I am sure you have all been wondering what that sweet little Missy has been up to as of late…I know she hasn’t been dominating the blog as per usual.  Miss Ella is working her little buns off getting ready for her dance recital, piano recital and violin recital all coming up in the next few weeks! Practice Practice Practice is Ella’s life right now hence why she is wearing dance clothes while playing the violin!  She also gave me one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever gotten the other day and I couldn’t help but frame and hang it! Her art blows me away just chalk it up to another of her many many talents!

Mistakes can be so hilarious!

D. Nicolaisen - WOW! That flower is wonderful! Great job Ella!!! Good eye for detail like her Mom!May 28, 2010 – 3:15 pm
