COWBOYS, COWBOYS EVERYWHERE! | CALGARY PHOTOGRAPHER

Oliver James is turning three years old  in a few weeks!!! Because we are headed back home  to the island for August…yes the whole month! We had Oliver’s party this weekend so he could celebrate with his  friends! This party was all Oliver, I was just there to execute his vision! He picked the colors, the invitations, the guest list, the cake design and the theme, Cowboys! fitting considering Calgary is crawling with cowboys this week with Stampede, we are unsure if we love Stampede or hate Stampede.  I no longer posses the talent of slamming beers as if they are water and I just ran a full marathon not to mention my Mommy colors shine brightly as I shake my head at the overly drunk and underly dressed teenagers who’s cowboy boots cover more then their denim!  My only saving grace is that Oliver seems to hate crowds and anyone looking at him with passion, which leads me to think he probably  wont be much of a Stampeder when he’s older! His sister…….shes another story entirely!

Flash backs of Disneyland came rushing in for Oliver when he realized the party was all about him and there were more then 2 guests attending that may want to look at him and GASP speak to him! He was a trooper facing his fear of crowds and being aknowledged in general head on, I can’t say he spoke to any of his guests directly but he did play! He reluctantly blew out the candles on his cake and believe it or not tore through his gifts in record time with a smile!! all in all Ella had a great time micro managing and Oliver wanted his friends to come back once everyone was gone, had they actually come back he probably would have run the other way screaming regardless, I think I have another sucessful birthday party to add to my Mommy resume!

Cowboy Hats, Bandana’s and a Sheriff badge for everyone!

Checking the settings for Shelley to take some pictures for me and got this beautiful picture! Yes Shelley it is beautiful no matter what you think!

Thanks so much for these cake pictures Shelley!

This is me literally begging Oliver to blow out the candles and then him painfully doing it!

Our neighbours also brought Ella a gift! The Jessie doll she has been trying to get me to buy her for over a month!

Thank you so much to everyone that came and the generous gifts!!

D. Nicolaisen - I just love the way you write! So refreshing, so detailed, so true to life as it really is. That party looks like it was lots of fun! I know Oli will be so glad he has a mummy who is so sensitive to his needs. I am sure it was more than a challenge for him (and his mommy) but it sure looks as if he did great! Happy Birthday!!!!July 12, 2010 – 12:15 am

Miranda - Shelley and the picture of her are both beautiful. Looks like a fun day had by all. Oliver is such a gorgeous little guy.July 11, 2010 – 11:09 pm
